At Powerhouse Productions, we've done our best to create a web site that anticipates and satisfies our customer’s needs. With that goal in mind, we've compiled a list of frequently asked questions. QUALITY
How good is your equipment and software?
For SD projects we use Panasonic DVCPRO50.  We use mostly P2 HD and 35mm lens systems for commercials work.  Our edit suite is based on Adobe Creative Suite and Blackmagic SDI cards for pristine 10-bit uncompressed editing and compositing.   We also regularly shoot on Varicam for specific projects.

DVD
What about DVD & Blu-ray?
We can do runs of up to 500+ discs here on site or we can arrange large-scale duplication runs at one of our partner suppliers.  All MPEG-2 and H.264 encoding goes through a multi-pass VBR encoding system for the best possible DVD delivery format or TVC transmission.  We regard our software conversion quality as equal to the best in the business.

LOCATION
You are based in the country. What about jobs in Melbourne & beyond?
We also have a base in Melbourne so whether you are located in the city or regional Victoria, we are flexible and cost-effective.  We have filmed extensively in South America, Europe, Mexico and the USA for over 14 years and have excellent knowledge of carnet/visa procedures and customs protocols.

RATES
How do your rates compare?
Our productions rates are cost comparable with metropolitan-based broadcast-quality production houses.  Because we don’t run a lot of heavy overheads and offer many services in-house, we can be more cost competitive.
